African Union Mission Washington, DC The AU Mission is working closely with the African Diplomatic Corps to adopt and advance common positions in their relationships with the Americas.

The mandate of the African Union Mission is to develop and promote relations with the US administration, undertake resource mobilization and consolidate constructive and productive institutional relationships between the African Union and Africans in the Diaspora, the Bretton Woods Institutions and other stakeholders. Engaging the African Diaspora is a fundamental priority for the AU Mission, and

initiatives have been undertaken to ensure the Diaspora is being provided opportunities to connect with Africa. Our new theme, "Inform America, Promote Africa", reflects our goals - to build and nurture the relationship between the African Union, the U.S. government, the African Diaspora, Africa and the American people.
