THAT'S A WRAP | Our 2026 Jazz Heritage Series has officially come to a close and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined us in honoring some of the most influential jazz musicians in history.

Take a look back at our tribute to Charlie Parker, featuring selections from "Bird with Strings." This performance featured collaborations with musicians from the U.S. Air Force Strings, U.S. Navy Band, and U.S. Army Band - a real tour de force.

Be on the lookout in the coming months for new video products dropping on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube featuring highlights from both our Jazz Heritage Series and Guest Artist Series! 👀🎥

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP | Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the month of May since 1949, started by Mental Health America (then known as the National Association for Mental Health.) The purpose of Mental Health Awareness Month is to raise awareness and educate the public about Americans who experience mental illness, the realities of living with these conditions, and strategies for attaining mental health and wellness.

The Department of the Air Force focuses on reducing stigma and promoting resources to ensure the readiness and well-being of Airmen, Guardians, and their families. Initiatives and programs available to service members emphasize that seeking support is a sign of strength - encouraging personnel to "protect, optimize, and defend" their mental health.

This clip features the U.S. Air Force Band's collaboration with Andy Grammer on his hit classic "Keep Your Head Up," which captures the sentiment of holding onto the hope that tomorrow will be a better day.

INTERNATIONAL TROMBONE WEEK | In celebration of International Trombone Week, we’re proud to feature the Concert Band's trombone section on a performance of Ernesto Lecuona’s "Malagueña." One of the most popular Latin standards, Malagueña is filled with rhythmic energy and this arrangement by Jerry Ascione showcases the full range and capabilities of the trombone.

This video was taken on our Spring Tour 2024 through North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin and we're seen here performing at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. Showcasing the excellence of our members on tour is a reflection of the excellence that exists throughout the Air Force, and our trombone section exhibits this core value superbly.

Tag and share this video to a trombone player in your life - we hope you enjoy!

NATIONAL POETRY MONTH | Since 1996, April marks National Poetry Month and we'd like to acknowledge the enduring power of words and language to inspire audiences with a video - the Singing Sergeants performing “My Heart Be Brave” by Marques L. A. Garrett. A moving setting of James Weldon Johnson’s “Sonnet,” the piece reminds us that honesty, love, and justice remain guiding forces for humanity even in the face of struggle.

A portion of the text reads, “Tho’ thick the battle and tho’ fierce the fight, there is a power making for the right.” Garrett’s setting displays the strength and courage we all can find in poetry and song ✍️ 🎶
