This week I met with Marines of Combat Logistics Company 33, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, fitness specialists with Marine Corps Base Hawaii’s Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience Center, and with Marines assigned to 3rd Radio Battalion, III MIG.

During my visit, I recognized Marines for their contributions, saw innovation and readiness firsthand, and learned more about how MCBH’s efforts to produce readiness and promote resiliency support Pacific Marines’ ability to maintain a capable, forward-postured force. Everyone Fights!

Yesterday, I had the honor of attending the change of command ceremony for U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, where Lt. Gen. James F. Glynn relinquished command to Lt. Gen. Roger B. Turner.

Thank you for your leadership, gentlemen, in leading Pacific Marines, which represents two-thirds of the Marine Corps’ operating forces and serves as the nation’s primary expeditionary force-in-readiness across the U.S. Pacific Command area of responsibility.

It was an honor to speak at the 1st Battalion 9th Marines Association reunion and spend time with Marines who have carried the identity of the “Walking Dead” across generations. Reunions are a reminder that the bonds we build in the Marine Corps will last long after our time in uniform, if we continue to foster our communities.

The Marine Corps may have deactivated 1/9 on paper, but the Walking Dead are alive and well. They continue to show up for one another and set an example of what it means to build connections that last. Semper Fi, Marines!

It was an honor to recognize our Communication Strategy and Operations (COMMSTRAT) Marines during the Visual Information and Excellence in Communication Awards last night.

COMMSTRAT Marines document our history, inform the public, and tell the Marine Corps story every day. Last night’s award recipients represent the very best of COMMSTRAT, and I’m grateful for their creativity and commitment to our Corps. Congratulations and Semper Fidelis!

Last week, we closed out the 2026 Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Symposium.

With the theme, “Chosen for Marines,” one of our key discussions reinforced that 8999s are selected first and foremost for their ability to lead Marines, making leadership their primary responsibility at every level.

Throughout the week, we heard from our most senior officers and engaged in candid discussions that will help shape the Marine of 2040. The direction we go from here will determine the type of Marine our country needs for tomorrow.

As these leaders return to their commands, they carry a shared vision and purpose that will help shape the future of our Corps and the Marines who will lead it.

Last night, I was fortunate to host the U.S. Department of Labor’s Assistant Secretary for Veterans’ Employment and Training, The Honorable Jeremiah Workman, at Marine Barracks Washington 8th & I alongside attendees of the 2026 Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Symposium.

It was especially fitting that the parade was comprised entirely of enlisted Marines, as Assistant Secretary Workman served as an enlisted Marine himself, earning the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism.

It was an honor to showcase the legacy, professionalism, and pride of our enlisted ranks, and to demonstrate that the same values he experienced during his service then, continue to define our Marines today.

Today we welcomed the most Senior Enlisted Leaders, who each bring decades of experience from across the Corps, to the 2026 Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Symposium.

Joining them are their spouses, whose dedication and commitment play an important role in the well-being and success of our Marine families.

I’m grateful for the candid discussions and perspectives shared throughout the symposium so far. Those conversations will help inform the decisions that keep our Force ready for the challenges ahead.

Yesterday kicked off the 2026 Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Symposium at the Pentagon, where our Force Level Sergeants Major came together for an opportunity to engage directly with senior military leaders and policymakers.

Our discussions focused on warfighter readiness, what the Marine of 2040 must look like, Barracks 2030, family policy, and creating more seamless transitions for Marines as they leave the Corps.

I’m grateful for the leaders who shared their perspectives yesterday and look forward to the rest of the week, as we’re joined by the Corps’ most senior enlisted leaders to continue our conversations about the role of the 8999 and developing the Marine of 2040.

Earlier this week, I visited leadership with Marine Aircraft Group 41, Detachment C and Marines and Sailors from Marine Wing Support Squadron 471, Marine Forces Reserve. This was an opportunity to share Marine Corps-wide updates and recognize Marines for their hard work.

I always appreciate the opportunity to speak with our reservists, who balance military service with civilian careers, while remaining ready to answer our nation’s call. Their commitment strengthens our Corps!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit Marine Corps Recruiting Station Twin Cities and surrounding locations, where I met with recruiters, staff, and future Marines. I also had the pleasure of recognizing several Marines who continue to raise the standard.

Recruiters today are writing the story of tomorrow’s Marine Corps by finding the next generation of men and women willing to serve. If you’re ready to be part of that story and join the force that fights and wins our nation’s battles, this is your sign to contact your local Marine recruiter! Semper Fi!
