🇰🇬 🇺🇸 President Sadyr Zhaparov held a meeting with U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor and Senator Steve Daines.

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov received U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs and U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of India Sergio Gor and Senator Steve Daines of Montana, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan to attend the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.

The sides exchanged views on the further development of Kyrgyz-U.S. relations, strengthening political dialogue, and expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

Particular attention was given to cooperation within the Central Asia–United States (C5+1) format. In this context, the sides discussed the prospects for holding the second Summit of Heads of State in this format in 2027.

In the context of strengthening multilateral cooperation, the President thanked Ambassador Sergio Gor for his congratulations on Kyrgyzstan’s election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2027–2028.

The sides also emphasized the importance of advancing economic cooperation and the role of the B5+1 platform in strengthening business ties and creating new opportunities for engagement between the business communities of Kyrgyzstan and the United States.

President Sadyr Zhaparov also emphasized the importance of easing visa requirements for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic wishing to travel to the United States.

In particular, the discussion focused on identifying practical solutions to simplify visa procedures for Kyrgyz citizens, including the visa bond requirement and the possibility of reviewing the relevant restrictions.

For his part, American side expressed support for the President’s proposals and readiness to assist in further strengthening Kyrgyz-U.S. relations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Sadyr Zhaparov conveyed his greetings to U.S. President Donald Trump and wished success to the American athletes participating in the World Nomad Games.

High-level government delegation from the United States of America will take part in the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, which will be held on August 31 in conjunction with the opening ceremony of the VI World Nomad Games.

The U.S. delegation will be headed by Ambassador Sergio Gor, Special Envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump. The delegation will also include U.S. Senator Steve Daines of Montana, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Bethany Morrison, U.S. Presidential Special Envoy Paolo Zampolli, as well as other representatives of the U.S. side.
This was announced by Edil Baisalov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States of America, in an interview with national television.

According to Ambassador Baisalov, President Donald Trump’s decision to send a high-level delegation to Kyrgyzstan to participate in the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence is an important sign of the United States’ attention to the Kyrgyz Republic, its sovereignty, and national independence.

“We view the participation of such a high-level U.S. delegation in our country’s principal national celebration as a reflection of growing mutual interest and the strengthening of Kyrgyz-U.S. relations,” the Ambassador noted.

Ambassador Baisalov emphasized that Kyrgyz-U.S. relations gained new momentum following the meeting between President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House in November last year.

According to him, Bishkek and Washington D.C. are steadily expanding political dialogue and practical cooperation, including in trade and economic relations, investment, emerging technologies, education, and other areas of mutual interest.

“The arrival of a U.S. delegation of this level for our Independence Day celebrations is yet another indication of the positive momentum in our bilateral relations and our shared commitment to bringing the Kyrgyz-U.S. partnership to a new level,” the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States stated.

10 августа 2026 года Министр иностранных дел Кыргызской Республики Жээнбек Кулубаев принял Помощника Государственного секретаря США по делам Южной и Центральной Азии Пола Капура.

В ходе встречи стороны обсудили актуальные вопросы кыргызско-американских отношений, включая дальнейшее развитие двустороннего сотрудничества, взаимодействие по санкционной тематике, а также отдельные вопросы, связанные с визовыми процедурами и введением визовых залогов.

Особое внимание уделено вопросам многостороннего сотрудничества и взаимодействию двух стран в рамках международных организаций. Американская сторона поздравила Кыргызскую Республику с избранием непостоянным членом Совета Безопасности Организации Объединенных Наций на 2027–2028 годы и выразила готовность к тесному взаимодействию по актуальным вопросам международной и региональной повестки.

Стороны также обсудили предстоящие контакты и график двусторонних мероприятий, подтвердив взаимную заинтересованность в поддержании регулярного политического диалога и поступательном укреплении кыргызско-американских отношений.

On August 10, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev received Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-American relations, including further development of bilateral cooperation, engagement on sanctions-related matters, as well as certain issues related to visa procedures and the introduction of visa bonds.

Particular attention was paid to multilateral cooperation and interaction between the two countries within international organizations. The U.S. side congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2027–2028 and expressed readiness for close cooperation on current issues of the international and regional agenda.

The sides also discussed upcoming contacts and the schedule of bilateral events, reaffirming their mutual interest in maintaining regular political dialogue and steadily strengthening Kyrgyz-American relations.
