Happy Labor Day as we celebrate American workers across the country! 🇺🇸

The strength of America has always been rooted in the hardworking men and women who embody grit, determination, and an unwavering work ethic.

President Trump and Republicans in Congress are putting American workers first with no tax on tips and overtime, permanent tax relief for working families, and policies that make it easier to work, grow a business, and get ahead.

Today, we celebrate the men and women who keep America moving.

Our veterans served us, and now we must serve them!

Richmond County Veterans is hosting a community resource and hiring event tomorrow, Saturday, September 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cole Auditorium and Community Center on the Richmond Community College campus.

The event is open to the public and will offer resources, door prizes, and snacks for veterans, with a special focus on those looking for employment or considering a career change.

I encourage veterans across Richmond County to take advantage of this opportunity and the resources available to them.

Birth tourism is a multimillion-dollar industry making a FORTUNE by manufacturing American citizenship.

Our current system is enabling thousands who may never live in America beyond the day of their birth to one day vote in our elections.

Honored to receive the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Friend of the Family Award for the 119th Congress, recognizing my voting record and commitment to the values that strengthen our families and protect religious liberty.

Strong families are essential to a strong America, and I will continue championing policies that support parents, protect faith, and defend the freedoms our country was founded on. I am grateful to the Faith & Freedom Coalition for this recognition and for its continued work on behalf of faith and family across our country.

American ranchers work hard to produce the beef our nation depends on.

Proud to join Senator Jerry Moran and Representative Adrian Smith in urging President Trump to continue expanding overseas markets for American beef and prioritize policies that provide long-term market stability and certainty, giving our producers the confidence to rebuild their herds here at home.

Amid the rise of antisemitism, our college campuses must be safe spaces for Jewish students. Taxpayer dollars should not reward academic institutions that demonstrate hostility and unfairness toward Israel, our greatest and closest ally in the Middle East.

I proudly supported Representative Virginia Foxx’s bill, the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act of 2026, and I am pleased to see it pass the House.

America’s academic institutions must remain places where EVERY student has the right to free speech and the right to learn without facing discrimination.

Thank you to Leader Steve Scalise for the celebratory cookie cake in honor of H.R. 4499 passing the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill makes technical corrections to federal statutes and updates references in the U.S. Code to help ensure they remain accurate.

This legislation marks the sixth bill of mine to pass the House, and I look forward to continuing to deliver results for North Carolina’s Eighth District.

Today marks 81 years since Japan formally surrendered aboard the USS Missouri, bringing World War II to an end.

Today and every day, may we remember and honor the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of those who served and sacrificed to defend our freedom.
