We always enjoy bragging about our organizations. This time it the Law Enforcement Activity Meade / 2nd Military Working Dog Detachment. These Soldiers supported the Fort George G. Meade, Md National Night Out, conducted K9 validation, and participated in Community Outreach with the Baltimore Ravens. Great work Dragoons and Watchdogs!

Military police from across the National Capital Region participated in oleoresin capsicum (OC), or "pepper spray," exposure training last month to understand how to employ the non-lethal measure and to familiarize themselves with the effects of the spray. It's one type of training that brings even the toughest Soldiers to tears, but these are good tears that get them ready for the challenges they might face.

After receiving a blast of the OC spray, they were required to accomplish tasks through the pain and vision impairment such as unarmed strikes, baton strikes, and giving orders to and subduing a hostile subject.

Kudos to these MPs from 289th Military Police Company "The Old Guard", 947th Military Police Company (from 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard)), and Fort Belvoir Law Enforcement Activity for embracing the burn to get trained up!

Recently the PMO hosted the Antiterrorism Officer Course LV2 course at Fort Belvoir. This course ensures the safety of our installations, communities, and proprietary information to support warfighting functions. In an effort to pursue lethality we must safe guard our most precious resource, our people.

Recently we said farewell to our Chief of Operations Major Quenten Vereen as he departs for a Training with Industry position. Major Vereen oversaw the successful ex*****on of over 7 National Special Security Events in his year assigned to the PMO. These included a State Funeral immediately followed by a Presidential Inauguration. During his time he became a central figure both inside and outside the organization. Good luck Major Vereen, not that we believe you will need it.

This week the PMO Team said goodbye to LTC Nicole Griffith who served as our Executive Officer. LTC Griffith led and participated in the State Funeral of President Carter as well as the 60th Presidential Inauguration and other high profile events during her tenure. Her contributions were many and her absence will be felt. Congratulations to 716th Military Police Battalion and the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) as they gain a Superior Leader.
