🤝 With your support, this month brought civic education workshops to more than 200 sangat members across six Gurmat camps, equipping Sikh youth and adults with the knowledge and tools to understand the issues shaping our communities and to participate meaningfully in our democracy.

📚Every student deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported at school.

💭 to when SALDEF partnered with cartoonist and animator, Vishavjit Singh, to help Sikh American students and families recognize bullying, understand their rights, and know how to report incidents.

🍎 That work was later informed by findings from SALDEF’s 2020 National Survey, reinforcing a critical point: addressing bullying requires more than awareness. It requires ensuring students and families have the knowledge and resources to recognize harm and respond effectively.

✏️ As a new school year begins, parents and caregivers can play an important role by talking with children about bullying, recognizing warning signs, and understanding how to report incidents. Explore SALDEF’s free parent resource on addressing school bullying: www.saldef.org/incident-resources
