At 11 a.m., we’ll be at the Lincoln Theatre with musicians, venues, theaters, and advocates calling on the DC Council to stand with fans, not ticket scalpers.

More than 50 local venues and theaters support CM Allen’s RESALE Act, including restoring the 10% resale price cap to stop outrageous markups that hurt concertgoers, artists, and DC’s live entertainment scene.

Stay tuned for how you can join the effort to protect fans and the local venues that make DC special.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a day honoring freedom, resilience, and the enduring struggle for justice.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Texas to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation, ensuring that enslaved Black Americans there were finally free more than two years after the proclamation was issued.

As we commemorate this day, we reflect on our history, celebrate progress, and recommit ourselves to the work that remains.
