DC SUN Bucks is back!

Families can receive $120 in extra grocery benefits per eligible student during the summer, when kids aren’t getting the meals they usually eat at school. DC SUN Bucks is designed to help families who could use support buying food.

Most eligible students are automatically enrolled through other programs they already participate in—but some will need to apply.

DC’s new enrollment checker makes it easy to find out if your student is enrolled for 2026 benefits or needs to apply.

Already enrolled or applied? Create an account with the new DC SUN Bucks online portal to manage your family’s DC SUN Bucks account, learn how to request a replacement card, and more!

SNAP Volunteer Program host sites provide meaningful volunteer placements where SNAP customers can build skills, gain experience, and meet their work requirements—while supporting your organization’s daily operations and community impact.

Team DHS showed up & showed out at last week’s inaugural NOMA District Field Day!

DHS HQ staff joined partner agencies based in NOMA—including DPR, DOEE, OSSE, DCPS, and DISB—for a fun-filled afternoon of friendly competition and community building.

Sporting bold red, Team DHS tackled an obstacle course, relay race, tug of war, red light-green light, musical chairs, and even some line dancing. The energy was electric, the team spirit was powerful, and the connections built across agencies made the day truly special.

A huge thank you to our DHS Wellness Team and participating agencies for helping coordinate this great event—and to everyone who came out to cheer on Team DHS!

We brought the energy this year and can’t wait to return to compete for next year’s NOMA Cup!
