Nidal Hasan caused immeasurable wounds to our community. The victims, survivors, their families and our community deserve to see justice finally served.

Great to connect with L3Harris to discuss the OA-1K Skyraider II aircraft that supports special operations.

Part of my role on the Defense Appropriations subcommittee is ensuring the services have the equipment necessary to fight, survive, and win wars.

Our hearts are with the family, friends, and fellow Soldiers of the Soldier who tragically lost their life during a training incident at Fort Hood. We lift them up in prayer and ask for comfort, strength, and peace during this incredibly difficult time. We also pray for the healing and recovery of the injured Soldier and for all those affected by this tragedy.

The U.S. Army Fort Hood Media Center announced that a 1st Cavalry Division soldier died following a vehicle rollover incident at Fort Hood during training on Monday.

I’m proud to earn the Defender of Limited Government award from the Institute for Legislative Analysis.

“The Institute for Legislative Analysis is proud to present Congressman John Carter with the Defender of Limited Government Award for a voting record aligned with the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution. Congressman Carter has long focused on the core responsibilities of government, including national defense, military readiness, and caring for the men and women who served our country. We especially commend his work on the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs appropriations bill to reprioritize existing funds toward base security, veterans care, and practical readiness needs without opening the door to higher overall spending. That effort served as part of this year’s Limited Government Ratings.

“Congressman Carter and his team deserve credit for working to make sure taxpayer dollars are directed toward essential duties rather than wasted on lower-priority spending.”

— Ryan McGowan, CEO, Institute for Legislative Analysis

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives forever changed by the attacks on our nation. We honor and mourn those we lost, remember the families affected, and pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call.

We will never forget.

Congratulations to Williamson County Precinct 2 Constable Jeff Anderson and his Command Staff for completing the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association program. The FBI-LEEDA program expands law enforcement leadership through training, education and networking and their completion speaks to the deep commitment these officers have to WilCo’s public safety.

We are blessed to have such dedicated officers protecting our communities in TX-31!
