DC Prep is outperforming the city!

We’re proud to share that two of our middle schools are among the DC public charter schools that outperformed the state on the 2026 DC CAPE assessment.

Benning Middle Campus outperformed the state in ELA, and Edgewood Middle Campus outperformed the state in both ELA and Math!

These results reflect the hard work of our Preppies, the dedication of our teachers and staff, community.

A little preparation now can help your student start the school year with confidence. As you get ready for the first day, make sure you've checked off the following:

☐ Emergency contact information updated

DC Prep’s Backpack Bash was a success!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the start of a new school year.

DC Prep families and community members received new backpacks stuffed with school supplies, played games, and learned about helpful resources.

A special shout out to Martha’s Table for hosting, JPMorgan Chase for donating backpacks, and our volunteers for helping make the day possible.

The countdown to an exciting new school year has begun!

In just two weeks, we'll welcome our Preppies and families back for Fall Orientation. Join us on Thursday, August 20, from 12 PM to 7 PM, at all DC Prep campuses.

This is your opportunity to meet your child's teachers, connect with school staff, explore your campus, and get everything you need for a successful first day of school.

We can't wait to welcome you back and begin another year of learning, growth, and joy together.

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year!

Across all DC Prep campuses, our PK3 and PK4 Preppies will kick off the year with Prep Week, a special first week designed to help our youngest students build routines, get to know their teachers, and transition into school with confidence.

Swipe to find your child's Prep Week schedule based on the first letter of their last name.

Please note: Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade begin school on Monday, August 24 and will attend a full school day.

Families with children in multiple grades may have different arrival and dismissal schedules during Prep Week.

Thank you to all of our Preppie families who joined us for our Summer Ice Cream Social!

It was wonderful to see new and returning families connecting with one another, meeting our staff, and getting excited for the upcoming school year.

At DC Prep, we believe strong school communities begin with strong relationships. Events like these help students feel welcomed, families feel connected, and everyone start the year with confidence.
