Nepal Embassy in Washington, D.C., United States of America, earnestly appeals for financial contributions to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for those affected by the Bhotekoshi floods in Nepal.
The Embassy of Nepal in Washington, D.C. expresses its profound sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa District on 10 Bhadra 2083 (August 26, 2026). The flood has caused significant damage and severely affected the lives and livelihoods of people in riverine and adjoining areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and other affected districts. The Embassy extends its deepest sympathy, solidarity, and support to all families and communities affected by this natural disaster.
In this difficult hour, the Government of Nepal has accorded the highest priority to search and rescue, relief, safe evacuation, rehabilitation, and emergency response efforts. Government authorities, local governments, security agencies, and other concerned bodies are continuously engaged in these efforts to address the immediate needs of affected people and to support their rehabilitation and reconstruction in the days ahead.
In this context, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Government of Nepal, has called upon individuals, organizations, businesses, the private sector, and well-wishers in Nepal and abroad for financial contribution to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, with the objective of supporting the rescue, relief, safe evacuation, and long-term rehabilitation of people affected by the Bhotekoshi flood.
The Embassy of Nepal in Washington, D.C. makes a heartfelt appeal to all Nepalese residing in the United States and the countries of concurrent accreditation : Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Guatemala, and The Bahamas, as well as Nepali diaspora organizations, business and social communities, philanthropists, and American and other international organizations and friends of Nepal, to extend financial support, according to their capacity and willingness, to this humanitarian cause.

In this difficult time, every contribution; large or small is meaningful. The Embassy therefore sincerely encourages everyone to contribute according to their means and extend solidarity and humanitarian support to the people affected by this disaster.
At the same time, to ensure that all contributions are handled transparently, securely, accountably, and effectively for their intended purpose, individuals and organizations are requested to make contributions only through official relief funds, bank accounts, QR codes, and other verified channels publicly designated by the Government of Nepal.
Before making any contribution, donors are strongly advised to verify the authenticity of the bank account or QR code and confirm the name of the account holder. Donors are particularly requested to cross-check the account name and details against the official information published by the Government of Nepal, including official account names such as “PRIME MINISTER DISASTER RELIEF FUND” and “DISASTER RELIEF FUND,” before making any contribution.
