Even if you're a progressive, sometimes we'll post something that you disagree with or find distasteful. The great thing about liberals is we're not one big, homogeneous group who stick to a single ideology. Our page is something of a current events museum - sometimes we hang art that may be slightly offensive or push boundaries, but somebody has to ask questions that make people uncomfortable. We’ve seen this exact headline almost every July for a decade. July 2019 broke the 2016 record. Then came 2021, 2023, and 2024—each hotter than the last. Now it’s 2026, the American West is burning, and Republican politicians are selling our water rights and actively dismantling climate protection efforts to pad fossil fuel profits.

Climate scientists predict 1.5°C of warming by 2030, an irreversible planetary tipping point. 2040 will bring severe water shortages and agricultural collapse. 2050 is the year when locked-in climate damage will begin costing the global economy an estimated $38 trillion annually. Only billionaires will have the means to survive somewhat unscathed.

2050 is less than 25 years from now. If we want a livable future beyond that date, we have to vote for it this November.
