I would rather be governed by the American people and those we elect than by unelected judges.

If the Constitution meant whatever judges wanted, judges would be able to set their own rules. They would control the Constitution, not vice versa.

Congress does not have the power to amend the Constitution by simple statute, and the fact that it has done so on other occasions merely points to the sad way our Constitution has been trashed by power-hungry politicians.
