MulePAC MulePAC is a nonpartisan pro-Israel political group of students at Muhlenberg College. We understand that Israel is a strategic asset to the United States.

We, as students at Muhlenberg College, recognize the necessity for our support of the strong relationship between the United States and Israel. Our support for Israel stems from the recognition that Israel and the United States share common values of equal rights for all people regardless of race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. As Americans, we support the State of Israel because of our mutual beliefs in freedom, democracy, and peace.

Hello everyone!
Hope everyone survived their finals. The AIPAC Policy Conference is coming up over spring break! It is the pro-Israel community's largest annual event. More than 10,000 community and student activists from all 50 states, and more than half of the Senate, a third of the House of Representatives and countless Israeli and American policymakers and thought leaders attend and speak at this event. In the duration of three days, Policy Conference participants choose from hundreds of informative break-out sessions and at the end, participate in one of AIPAC's most powerful days of lobbying at The Capitol. It is a very unique, learned, and fun couple of days.
We have a few more spots left and if anyone is interested please contact either Maya Shen or Elie Skolnick by Thursday December 18th for more information.

Happy Holidays!

AIPAC applauds Congress for final passage of the United States-Israel Strategic Partnership Act (S.2673). This historic measure will dramatically strengthen and expand the U.S.-Israel alliance as a way to confront new threats and challenges in the Middle East.

Congress today completed adoption of the landmark legislation when the House approved the final version of the bill. AIPAC praises the effective, bipartisan leadership of Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Ted Deutch (D-FL), Ed Royce (R-CA), Eliot Engel (D-NY) and Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Roy Blunt (R-MO).

By declaring in legislation that Israel is a “major strategic partner” of the United States, the bill lays the foundation for significantly expanded U.S.-Israel cooperation in a wide variety of spheres, including defense, intelligence, homeland security, cyber security, energy, water, agriculture and alternative fuel technologies.

AIPAC STATEMENT ON IRAN TALKS EXTENSION:
After a year of negotiations, Iran received another seven-month extension of the current talks without showing any willingness to abandon its quest to build nuclear weapons. It is particularly troubling that this new extension will yield Tehran even more economic relief without increased pressure on the Islamic Republic. Iran has now received direct sanctions relief valued at approximately ten billion dollars since the negotiations began, and there is no sign those benefits have produced favorable results.
Moreover, there is evidence that Iran has not fully complied with the Joint Plan of Action with respect both to its research and development of advanced centrifuges. Iran has repeatedly failed to live up to its commitments to the International Atomic Energy Agency -- stonewalling the IAEA’s investigation of past Iranian weaponization activities.
AIPAC continues to believe that tough pressure brought Iran to the negotiations and that the threat of additional pressure will strengthen America’s bargaining position. We share the goal of an effective, sustainable agreement that ensures Iran will not have a path to the bomb, and we believe that increased pressure is the best way to achieve that objective. Conversely, gestures of accommodation to Iran have failed to yield a suitable Iranian response.
Congress delayed enacting additional sanctions over the past year to give negotiations a chance. It is now essential that Congress take up new bipartisan sanctions legislation to let Tehran know that it will face much more severe pressure if it does not clearly abandon its nuclear weapons program. We urge Congress to play its traditional and critical role to ensure that a final agreement truly eliminates any path for Iran to build a nuclear weapon.
Administration officials have appropriately and repeatedly indicated that no deal is better than a bad deal. However, endlessly continuing talks with a recalcitrant Iran without additional pressure will undoubtedly fail to reach a good deal that we all seek to achieve.
Congress must now act to send a clear message that U.S. patience is not limitless and that Iran must not be allowed to achieve a nuclear weapons capability.

MEMO: Palestinian Incitement Spurs Terrorist Attacks

Palestinian terrorists Tuesday murdered four Israelis as they prayed at a Jerusalem synagogue. The attack followed months in which Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian leaders used vitriolic language to inflame tensions, especially over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The Palestinian leadership must cease these provocations and work to de-escalate current tensions.

The highest ranking U.S. military officer applauded Israel for going to “extraordinary lengths” to protect civilian lives during this summer’s conflict in Gaza.

“I actually do think that Israel went to extraordinary lengths to limit collateral damage and civilian casualties,” said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

During a November 6 forum at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in New York, Dempsey discussed his admiration for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to minimize the number of civilian deaths during the recent operation.
