The NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluation Program evaluated muscle and joint injury risks and chemical disinfectant exposure among workers at a pork processing plant.

For the workers at this facility, NIOSH recommended:
✅ identifying repetitive job tasks and implementing engineering controls
✅ increasing airflow in the spray cabinet to lower exposure to the chemical disinfectant
