In today’s fast-moving digital landscape, visibility alone isn't enough; businesses must build brands that truly connect with their audience.

During the DC Chamber's Small Business Summit & Showcase in May, Brandire Founder and CEO Madia Brown led a conversation about this important topic, challenging attendees to think differently about branding, positioning, and authenticity in an era increasingly shaped by AI-driven discovery. Attendees walked away with valuable insights on how businesses can stand out, build trust, and remain relevant in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

Thank you to Madia Brown, also a valued DC Chamber Board member and co-chair of the Women in Business Committee, for leading the powerful session “Seen But Not Chosen: The Brand Problem AI Is Exposing,” and for helping shape our attendees' experience and insights.

Yesterday, more than 50 determined Chamber members and partners from every business sector showed up bright and early for Advocacy Day, ready to get their marching orders and bring the Chamber’s pro‑growth message to Councilmembers and staff across the Wilson Building. Our members spent the day discussing the policies that most impact employers across the District, from proposed new taxes and fees to regulatory changes that could raise costs for small and local businesses.

As the Chamber and the business leaders present made abundantly clear during their sessions with Councilmembers, new taxes are not the answer to the District’s budget shortfalls, especially at a moment when our small businesses and residents are already navigating a fragile economic landscape.

We are grateful to every DC Councilmember and staff leader who made time to meet with us, listen to our concerns, and engage in thoughtful dialogue about the future of DC’s economy. This partnership and openness is critical to building a stronger, more competitive city.

Thank you to Tiffini Greene, Earle Chico Horton III, and Kevin Wrege for helping organize this important day; to the board leaders who joined us and helped shape the conversations; the advocacy leads who led the conversations in the packed rooms; our sponsors Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP and Cozen O'Connor who graciously supported our efforts; and our partners and members who joined us in our fight to champion a vibrant, resilient business community.
