Washington Latin Public Charter School Washington Latin Public Charter Schools offer an excellent education to students in grades 5-12 from across DC on two campuses.

Our mission is to provide a challenging, classical education that is accessible to students throughout the District. WLPCS opened in 2006 with 179 students in grades five through seven; we have added a grade each year and graduated our first class of seniors on June 8, 2012. Our first location was in Christ Church of Washington at 3855 Massachusetts Avenue (two blocks west of Washington National C

athedral). In 2008 we added a second campus for our eighth and ninth graders at 4715 16th Street on the corner of Decatur (just south of Carter Barron), and in 2009 we moved our entire Middle School (grades 5-8) to 4115 16th St. NW on the corner of Upshur, just a half-mile from our Upper School. In 2010 we added an additional campus for our upper school at 4501 16th Street NW on the corner of Allison. We now enroll 600 students and plan to house the entire school in a permanent site for the 2013-14 school year.

Starting to feel like spring for real now, so it’s definitely time to lock in summer plans! We are launching our own day camp this summer at the Cooper Campus! We look forward to welcoming students ages 8-14 from our schools and across DC. Exciting update: Latin's brand-new batting cage is here, thanks to our amazing families who contributed funds and hard work! Softball and baseball teams - athletes, coaches, and families - will celebrate this weekend and invite the Latin community, too! Join us this Saturday, March 7, from 2-4pm at 2nd Street to check it out and show your Latin school spirit. Food trucks will be there with delicious eats - you bring your Latin Pride!
