DGS joined Fort Myer Construction Corporation, Midwest Mole, Inc., & DC's Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development to lower the Microtunneling Boring Machine (MTBM) into the launch shaft for the Hill East Phase II Infrastructure Project. This milestone marks the commencement of trenchless installation of a critical 72-inch sewer relocation that will support the broader Mayor Bowser + Washington Commanders RFK Campus Redevelopment initiative.

DGS is managing the design and construction of new infrastructure, utilities, and roadway improvements on the RFK Campus as part of a long-term infrastructure and economic development program intended to support future redevelopment of the area.

The Hill East Phase II Project includes the relocation of a critical 72-inch combined sewer line and associated utility infrastructure to accommodate the planned redevelopment of the Hill East site, formerly occupied by the DC General Hospital campus. The project is essential to supporting future mixed-use development while maintaining uninterrupted sanitary sewer and stormwater conveyance services for the District.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding DGS’ critical role in the RFK Development.

— We’re celebrating the topping out milestone of the new $50.8M Fort Lincoln Campus Improvement Project in . “This new campus will offer residents of every age a place to learn, play, and connect — from early childhood education to recreation and wellness programs,” said DC Department of Parks and Recreation Director Thennie Freeman.

“It represents the very best of what DGS does, which is building spaces that matter to DC families,” said Director Hunter. Together, we are creating opportunities, investing in local businesses, and delivering a space that will serve the Fort Lincoln community in many different ways.”

We could not do this work without our design-build team, MCN Build + STUDIOS Architecture, DGS Project Manager Mike Etherton, and DPR PM Brent Sisco, our client agency, DPR, CBEs, our Capital Construction Services Division, and all involved. Over the past decade, Mayor Bowser has invested more than $600 million to modernize recreation centers across the District.

We are excited to continue working together deliver this project to the Ward 5 community!

Follow to see this project come to fruition!
