During Su***de Prevention Month, I pause to remember those we've lost and support those who are struggling. As a physician, I know how critical it is to expand access to mental health care in our communities. No one should face this alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, dial 988 the Su***de and Crisis Lifeline. 988 is a free and confidential emotional support lifeline that’s available 24 hours a day to support people in crisis. The service is secure and confidential.

Thank you to the firefighters, first responders, and emergency personnel putting in the hard work around the clock to keep our communities safe.

Emergency responders have successfully stopped the 's forward spread across approximately 50 acres and will remain on scene conducting extensive clean-up operations. There are currently no evacuations or reported injuries though I encourage everyone to remain informed and monitor official emergency alerts for the latest updates.

THERMAL, Calif. (KESQ) - A brush fire burned 50 acres in Thermal Thursday night before forward progress was stopped. The fire was reported just before 10:15 p.m. on the 86100 Block of Airport Boulevard, near the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport. Shortly before 2:30 a.m., authorities announced tha...

While the Trump administration is focused on enriching billionaires and the Iran war, the American people continue to suffer. Families are struggling with higher costs of gas, groceries, losing health care access and paying more in premiums. This is unacceptable. It is a disgrace to the priorities of the American people, and I will not stop fighting until Washington puts our communities first.

I was deeply honored to celebrate Debbie Espinosa’s departure as CEO of FIND Regional Food Bank after 8 years of incredible, heartfelt service and devotion to the people of the Coachella Valley. I am incredibly proud of our partnership. Debbie has always answered the call not only in feeding the hungry and the food insecure, but also responding to major emergencies, like COVID-19, wildfires, government shutdowns and anywhere the community needed her.

I will miss her and wish her the best in her next chapter leading Harvesters, a regional food bank network serving Missouri and Kansas.

Join me in giving a heartfelt thank you to Debbie Espinosa and her team at FIND Regional Food Bank.

President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) into law 62 years ago and today, we are watching Republicans rip that lifeline away from struggling families after deciding that kids’ hunger was less important than handing billionaires and big corporations multiple tax breaks. It is disgusting, cruel, and it is happening right now! I will not stop fighting to restore this lifeline for our communities.

I sat down with leaders from the Inland Empire Health Plan to hear directly how HR.1 One Big Beautiful Bill, better known as the "Big Ugly Law" is impacting access to health care. Families, seniors, and rural communities are worried about losing coverage and providers are worried about keeping their doors open. 200-350K people in River County and San Bernadino County will lose coverage next year mostly due to burdensome bureaucratic reporting.

These conditions are unacceptable and I'll keep working to help ensure our communities have access to affordable, high-quality health care.

Today is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day, a day to recommit to protecting you from this harmful drug.

Fentanyl has taken far too many lives, including students, on school campuses across our country. I introduced the HERO Act (Helping Educators Respond to Overdoses Act), to help schools access opioid overdose reversal drugs and provide training on overdose prevention and emergency response.

I'll keep fighting to help ensure our schools and communities have the tools they need to save lives!
