The Latino Student Fund was founded in 1994 to address the growing high school dropout rates of Hispanic/Latino students in Washington, DC. Over the past two decades, LSF has supported more than 2,000 children, and has continued to develop new services to meet the evolving educational needs of the Hispanic/Latino community. All LSF services are bilingual, and offered free of charge. Our current pr
ograms include: comprehensive college access and preparation services; weekly one-on-one tutoring and summer camp scholarships for at-risk youth; parent literacy and advocacy services; school fairs, admissions workshops and family consultation; tuition stipends to local independent and parochial schools. Since LSF was founded, 100% of our 12th grade students have graduated from high school, as compared to 85% of Hispanic/Latino students nationally and 55% in the DC Public Schools system. Over 90% of LSF high school graduates have enrolled in institutions of higher education, as compared to less than 50% nationally.
