New Zealand’s Defence Attaché to the US CDRE Blair Gerritsen has joined commonwealth Defence colleagues in meeting King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
CDRE Gerritsen enjoyed a brief exchange with the King and Queen, as part of a service at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
Blair said services at Arlington National Cemetery are significant for many reasons, but none more so than those attended by the King.

To mark 100 years of NZ red meat imports to the US, we're diving into the NZ-US agriculture archives with Beef + Lamb New Zealand!

Here's to 100 years of New Zealand red meat imports to the United States!
That's right, since 1926 New Zealand has been a trusted supplier of red meat to the United States.
This week the New Zealand Embassy brought together New Zealand and American meat partners to celebrate 100 years - over a Kiwi bbq and with plenty of NZ beef and lamb! Ambassador Chris Seed was joined by New Zealand's Special Agricultural Trade Envoy (SATE) Nathan Guy and Kate Acland, chair of both Beef + Lamb New Zealand and the New Zealand Meat Board.

As a child, Shane Pierce had been fascinated by his grandfather’s stories of his experience as a New Zealand soldier in World War 1.
Shortly before he passed away, Shane’s grandfather passed on to him a collection of medals and photos collected during his service.
Shane, who has lived in the US for some years, has now gifted this collection to the New Zealand Embassy for repatriation to the National Army Museum Te Mata Toa in Waiouru.
Speaking with the NZ Embassy from his home in Cincinnati, Shane says while it was difficult to part with the items, he wanted to share his grandfather’s experience with a new generation of New Zealanders.
