Yesterday’s court ruling is an important reminder of what we have always known: transgender service members have served, and continue to serve, with honor, courage, and distinction.

While this decision does not end the fight, it affirms that policies targeting transgender Americans for exclusion from military service are not rooted in readiness, fairness, or the values our nation asks service members to defend.

Modern Military Association of America stands with every transgender service member, veteran, military spouse, family member, and future recruit impacted by this ban. No one who meets the standards to serve should be denied the opportunity to wear the uniform simply because of who they are.

Our community deserves more than temporary relief. They deserve dignity, stability, and the freedom to serve openly and authentically.

MMAA will continue to fight for equality, protect our LGBTQ+ military community, and ensure that transgender patriots are seen, valued, and defended.

To our transgender service members and veterans: you belong. Your service matters. We are with you!

The Department of Defense has paused enlistment for people living with HIV — despite clear federal court rulings and decades of medical evidence showing they can serve safely and effectively.
