Over 30 years ago, the Republican Communications Association (RCA) was founded by former Congressman Bob Walker of Pennsylvania as an outlet for press secretaries to meet, mingle, and share ideas. We are Capitol Hill's professional organization of Republican communicators, both on and off the Hill, and offer a year-round schedule of activities, including monthly luncheons with notable guest speake
rs, media networking opportunities, a job bank, and social get-togethers. House, Senate, and the Administration as well as associations, political organizations, public relations firms, and corporations. Events sponsored by RCA provide opportunities to meet and learn from hundreds of others who work in communications in Washington, D.C. Our luncheons and events have featured such well-known guests as former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole, Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Tony Snow, ABC's Cokie Roberts, Sam Donaldson and George Stephanopolous, columnist David Broder, former White House press secretary Mike McCurry, Chris Matthews, J.C. Watts, Ari Fleischer, Dana Perino, and many others. In addition to the monthly luncheons, RCA members enjoy professional development workshops, receptions and happy hours, as well as other media gallery tours, studio visits, and useful roundtable discussions on issues and ideas to improve communications skills.
