As we reflect on the 63rd anniversary of the historic March on Washington, we're sitting with Dr. Martin Luther King's provocation and invitation about the fierce urgency of now.

We are organizing at a time of unprecedented threat to DC self-governance. The moral crisis in our streets remains urgent and cannot be overlooked.

Our city, strengthened by communities across all 8 Wards, can model how we organize amid ongoing repression. We must not let the symbolism of American democracy erase the experiences of the people who call the District home.

Follow along for opportunities to get involved as we continue scaling up this fall. We organize together, we stand together, we win together.

Scrolling through the archives, we came across an article about a brand new organization called the Washington Interfaith Network.

30 years in. Still organizing. Still showing up.

Living in the heart of empire under the persistent threat to DC autonomy can feel overwhelming. But we know this is a promising moment to make a difference.

Ensuring DC becomes a city where communities across all 8 Wards can thrive and grow will take all of us. The work starts now.

WIN is partnering with Faith Out Loud to host the Freedom Summer Fellowship, a faith-based leadership program designed to equip emerging young leaders with the skills, experience, and networks needed to strengthen democracy and serve their communities. Grounded in faith, justice, and civic engagement, this 12-week fellowship prepares young adults to recruit, educate, and mobilize voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections and beyond. If you are or know a young adult, 18-28, who is looking for an opportunity to join the ongoing work in DC around organizing and our elections, please share this information with them.

Today we celebrated the completion of a deep energy retrofit at Victory Square Senior Apartments in Ward 7 alongside the . By installing high efficiency heat pumps, efficient electric water heaters, and water saving fixtures, residents are now projected to save $650 annually on utility costs. We need more successful stories like this! This is why WIN is calling on DC Council to add 9 million of additional funds to the Sustainable Energy Trust Fund for Healthy Homes implementation.

Foundry members joined neighbors from across all 8 wards of DC this week for a powerful evening with the Interfaith Network (WIN). The WIN candidates forum brought together DC residents who shared their own stories about affordable housing, homelessness, public safety, health equity, and Black homeownership, then asked candidates directly for their commitments. It was civic engagement at its best.

Several candidates said it was their favorite format of any event they had attended this cycle. Foundry is proud to be one of 45 member institutions building community power together as we approach the June 16 DC primary.
