MOLGBTQA was proud to join La Pluma Theatre for a talkback following the final performance of Nation-State: A Live Experiment at Dupont Underground.
Through immersive and testimonial theatre, Nation-State invited audiences to step into a fictional micronation and reflect on citizenship, identity, belonging, and the lived experiences that shape our communities.
We were honored to be part of the conversation with local artists and community leaders, exploring how storytelling can help us build a more inclusive and equitable DC. Dupont Underground

Pride Month has come to a close and we want to thank everyone who celebrated, connected, and showed up with us throughout June to honor 20 years of the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs.

From show-stopping community events to meaningful conversations, this month was a reminder of the strength, resilience, and diversity of DC’s LGBTQIA+ community.

The Bowser Administration remains committed to supporting, uplifting, and advocating for LGBTQIA+ residents—not just during Pride Month, but all year long.

Thank you for celebrating with us. Happy Pride! ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Nationals Pride Night Out and Team DC Night OUT! 🌈⚾

The Team DC Night OUT Series continues to bring the LGBTQIA+ community together to support our DC professional sports teams.

We’re grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate, build community, and support LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the District of Champions!

For 20 years, the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs has stood with our community — protecting rights, expanding services, and making sure every LGBTQIA+ resident feels seen, valued, and supported.

This Pride Month, we reflect on that journey. From raising the Pride Flag with Mayor Muriel Bowser to working alongside advocates and city agencies, our commitment has always been the same: to build a DC where every LGBTQIA+ resident can thrive.

Here’s to 20 years of service — and to the work we will continue together. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
