The Supreme Court’s decision to gut the Voting Rights Act threatens not only Black voters, but the very foundation of democracy itself.

When courts roll back protections against racial discrimination in voting, they create opportunities for discriminatory maps, voter suppression, and the silencing of entire communities.

As the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg once warned: “Throwing out [voting rights] when it has worked and is continuing to work is like throwing away your umbrella in a rainstorm because you are not getting wet.”

Trump said the quiet part out loud when asked how he’s balancing the Iran war with rising gas prices:

“I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation.”

At least he’s finally being honest.

Gas prices are soaring. Inflation just hit its highest level since 2023. Grocery costs continue to climb.

And instead of focusing on the economic pain Americans are feeling every day, the President seems more interested in acting like a wannabe dictator.

On Tuesday, Tony joined other legislative offices alongside Congressman John Garamendi at the press conference for the ADAPT Assets Act, an important investment in protecting critical transportation infrastructure from climate impacts.

I’m proud to support this legislation and efforts that help communities better prepare for the realities of climate change while strengthening regional resilience.

The legislation would help accelerate large-scale infrastructure resilience projects, including efforts tied to Highway 37 and shoreline flood protection in the North Bay.
