ICYMI: Last Friday, DDOT, DowntownDC BID, and residents across the district celebrated 2026 Bike to Work Day, a nationwide annual initiative to promote cycling as a safe and reliable transit method and commuting choice.

Commuters got their gears turning early before work, as many of our designated pit-stops saw great turn-outs and participation from riders, businesses, and volunteers, including this one at Franklin Park. The weather was great and there was no shortage of free bicycle swag giveaways, breakfast snacks, prize raffles, and this year's coveted Bike to Work Day T-Shirts. As we continue to roll through May into warmer months, we encourage commuters to continue considering biking to work and to look forward to next year's events.
