SCPC members were on Capitol Hill this week continuing efforts to build support for H.R. 5031/S. 3159, legislation that helps preserve access to the specialized services long-term care (LTC) pharmacies provide to millions of seniors and vulnerable patients nationwide.

One of our visits included staff from Congressman Gary Palmer’s (R-AL) office where we shared the realities facing our sector and advocate for solutions that help ensure continued access.

New data reinforces what SCPC has warned all along: IRA-negotiated prices are putting long-term care pharmacies at risk, threatening critical services such as prescription fulfillment, enhanced medication management, and medication delivery for patients in skilled nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other LTC settings nationwide.

Congress must pass the Preserving Patient Access to Long-Term Care Pharmacies Act to help protect access to these essential pharmacy services and ensure vulnerable patients continue receiving the care they depend on.
