The Naval District Washington (NDW) Chief Petty Officers Association (CPOA) exists to:
1. Provide a professional and social association for the CPO community, thereby increasing fellowship and esprit de corps. To train, aid and assist one another in professional growth and personal expansion.
2. To bond the Chief Petty Officers of the Naval District Washington area, into a single, coordinated, c
ohesive body, exemplifying the traditions, customs, honors and responsibilities of the Chief Petty Officers to carry on our heritage, and promote brother/sisterhood among its members. In keeping with the customs and traditions of the United States Navy, it is the inherent responsibility of all Chief Petty Officers to participate in and support Association activities.
3. Provide a constant interface between all CPOs resulting in the CPO community becoming more knowledgeable and aware of activities occurring within the Navy, the National Capital Region (NCR) and NDW.
4. On a monthly basis, provide a professional and military forum for all CPOs to discuss problem areas and provide recommendations on matters affecting enlisted personnel, effectively enhancing the quality of leadership and guidance thereby improving the morale and pride in the Navy and the CPO community.
5. The NDW CPOA will conduct itself within all other constraints set forth by Navy policy and doctrine, which allow its existence.
6. This association fully supports all Department of the Navy (DoN) policies on equal opportunity and will not discriminate in membership eligibility on the basis of race, s*x, religion, or national origin. This association will not accept invitations from any organization, nor will it participate in any activities that do not conform to DoN policies.
