เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงวอชิงตัน เยือนรัฐออริกอน เพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ในระดับประชาชนและความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ
ดร. สุริยา จินดาวงษ์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงวอชิงตัน ได้เดินทางเยือนรัฐออริกอน ระหว่างวันที่ ๒๔–๒๕ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ โดยเมื่อวันที่ ๒๕ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดงาน Portland Thai Festival ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเพื่อเผยแพร่ศิลปวัฒนธรรม อาหาร และเอกลักษณ์ความเป็นไทย โดยมีร้านค้าและผู้ประกอบการเข้าร่วมกว่า ๔๐ ร้าน และมีสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส สำนักงานที่ปรึกษาการเกษตรต่างประเทศ ประจำนครลอสแอนเจลิส และสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส รวมทั้งสมาคมนวดไทยและสปาแห่งอเมริกา ร่วมจัดบูธประชาสัมพันธ์สินค้าและบริการของไทยด้วย
งานดังกล่าวริเริ่มโดย ดร. สิทธิ ชัยสุโรจน์ ประธานบริษัท Land and Houses USA และได้รับการสนับสนุนจากนาย Nicholas J. Stanley กงสุลใหญ่กิตติมศักดิ์ ณ เมืองพอร์ตแลนด์ สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส และชุมชนไทยในพื้นที่ ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวชื่นชมความร่วมมือของทุกภาคส่วน และย้ำบทบาทของเทศกาลไทยในการส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรมและซอฟต์พาวเวอร์ของไทย ตลอดจนกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประชาชนของทั้งสองประเทศ พร้อมทั้งเป็นผู้แทนสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส มอบเงินสนับสนุนการจัดงานเทศกาลไทย และเป็นผู้แทนสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส มอบตราสัญลักษณ์ Thai SELECT ให้แก่เจ้าของร้านอาหารไทยในเมืองพอร์ตแลนด์ที่ได้ผ่านการคัดเลือกตามมาตรฐาน Thai SELECT จำนวน ๔ ร้าน
ก่อนหน้านั้น เมื่อวันที่ ๒๔ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้ร่วมบรรยายพิเศษในงาน Ambassador Lunch Talk ซึ่งสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส และสถานกงสุลใหญ่กิตติมศักดิ์ ณ เมืองพอร์ตแลนด์ ร่วมกันจัดขึ้น ในหัวข้อ “Advancing Thailand–U.S. Economic Partnership and Alliance @250” โดยมีนาย Tobias Read ตำแหน่ง Secretary of State ของรัฐออริกอน และนาย Eric Zimmerman สมาชิกสภาเมืองพอร์ตแลนด์ รวมทั้งผู้บริหารบริษัทเอกชนชั้นนำและผู้แทนองค์กรด้านธุรกิจของรัฐออริกอนเข้าร่วม
เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวถึงความสัมพันธ์ไทย-สหรัฐฯ ที่ดำเนินมาอย่างยาวนานถึง ๑๙๓ ปี และความร่วมมือทวิภาคีที่ใกล้ชิดในด้านต่าง ๆ ทั้งด้านการเมือง ความมั่นคงและการค้าการลงทุน โดยย้ำบทบาทของไทยในฐานะพันธมิตรและหุ้นส่วนทางเศรษฐกิจที่สำคัญของสหรัฐฯ รวมทั้งได้ให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับนโยบายเศรษฐกิจที่รัฐบาลไทยให้ความสำคัญ และตอบข้อซักถามต่าง ๆ จากผู้เข้ารับฟังการบรรยายพิเศษดังกล่าว เกี่ยวกับเศรษฐกิจไทยและโอกาสในการลงทุนในประเทศไทย
นอกจากนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เดินทางไปเยี่ยมชม Intel Ronler Acres (RA4) Campus ซึ่งเป็นศูนย์ผลิตชิพและ R&D ที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของบริษัท Intel ที่เมืองฮิลส์โบโร รัฐออริกอน และพบหารือกับผู้บริหารของบริษัทฯ โดยได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับสถานะและแนวโน้มอุตสาหกรรมเซมิคอนดักเตอร์ การเสริมสร้างห่วงโซ่อุปทานของอุตสาหกรรมดังกล่าว ตลอดจนโอกาสในการขยายความร่วมมือระหว่างบริษัท Intel กับประเทศไทยในอนาคต
Ambassador of Thailand to the United States Visits Oregon to Advance People-to-People Ties and Economic Partnership
H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, visited the State of Oregon from 24–25 July 2026. On 25 July 2026, the Ambassador presided over the opening ceremony of the Portland Thai Festival which was organized to showcase Thai arts, culture and cuisine. More than 40 vendors and businesses participated in the event. The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles, the Office of Agricultural Affairs in Los Angeles and the Thai Trade Center in Los Angeles, as well as the Thai Massage and Spa Association of America, also opened booths to promote Thai products and services.
The Festival was initiated by Dr. Sitti Chaisurote, President of Land and Houses USA, and supported by Mr. Nicholas J. Stanley, Honorary Consul-General of Thailand in Portland, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles, and the Thai community in Oregon. On this occasion, the Ambassador commended the close cooperation of all parties involved and underscored the important role of Thai festivals in promoting Thai culture and soft power while strengthening people-to-people ties between Thailand and the United States. The Ambassador also handed a financial contribution in support of the festival and awarded Thai SELECT certificates to 4 Thai restaurants in Portland that have met the Thai SELECT standards.
On 24 July 2026, the Ambassador attended at the Ambassador Lunch Talk, jointly organized by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles and the Honorary Consulate-General of Thailand in Portland, under the theme “Advancing Thailand–U.S. Economic Partnership and Alliance @250.” The event was attended by executives from leading companies, representatives from business community in Oregon, as well as Mr. Tobias Read, Oregon Secretary of State, and Mr. Eric Zimmerman, Portland City Councilor.
The Ambassador delivered remarks highlighting the longstanding Thailand–U.S. relation, which marks 193rd anniversary in 2026, and the close bilateral cooperation in political-security, trade and investment. He underscored Thailand's role as a treaty ally and a strategic partner of the United States, and provided an overview of the Thai Government's key economic policies and priorities. The Ambassador also engaged in a Q&A session with participants on issues relating to Thailand's economic outlook and investment opportunities.
Furthermore, the Ambassador visited Intel's Ronler Acres (RA4) Campus, Intel's largest semiconductor manufacturing and research and development (R&D) facility in Hillsboro, Oregon, and met with the company's senior executives. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the current state and future trends of semiconductor industry, the development of more resilient semiconductor supply chains and opportunities to further expand cooperation between Intel and Thailand in the years ahead.
