The World Economic Forum released its 2024 Global Risks Report which highlighted the high concern for India being #1 in misinformation. The Government of India has had a stark history of suppressing activists, lawyers, and free media and continues to violate human rights. India has continuously to tried to control narratives and misinform the public

Recently, the CBC released a documentary on the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian Sikh Activist who consistently spoke out against the Indian Governments atrocities until he was assassinated on the orders of Indian intelligence authorities. The documentary has now been banned on platforms such as Youtube and X at the request of the Government of India.

The Sikh Assembly of America is urging the United States Congress to take immediate action and condemn this grave violation of International law and human rights.

From 1984 to 2024, the Government of India has created a violent legacy of State-Violence. The Indian government's use of military-grade weapons and tanks against innocent Sikhs during the 1984 Sikh genocide is a stark reminder of the Indian governments brutality. The Indian regime is yet to be held responsible for these violent actions.

Now in 2024, this pattern of excessive force continues to be seen with the ongoing farmers protest in punjab where some Sikhs are still being targetted and killed. The use of lethal weapons raises concerns about human rights violations and the need for immediate ceasefire against peaceful protesters.

The Sikh Assembly of America stands strongly with farmers and the Sikh nation in the fight against injustice.

Farmers across the globe are raising their voices against unfair agricultural policies and reforms. In countries such as India, France, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, and others, farmers are nationally standing together to resist exploitation by large corporations and governments.

These protests highlight the vulnerability of hardworking farmers and the urgent need for fair and supportive agricultural policies and protection of their livelihoods. The global outcry for agricultural reform underscores the importance for better agricultural policies that prioritize farmers' well-being.

The Sikh Assembly of America supports our farmers from all over the world in the fight against injustice and exploitation. 🌾🌍

The Sikh Assembly of America condemns international law and human rights violations at the Punjab farmers' protest. Peaceful demonstrators have been facing excessive force including sonic weapons known as LRADs and tear gas drones.

The Sikh Nation implores the US Congress and White House along with all democratic and fair governments to recognize and condemn these human rights abuses.

The Sikh Assembly of America is working towards the recognition of violations and protection of human rights in Punjab and around the globe.

Honoring the martyrs who gave their lives fighting injustice, the Sikh Assembly of America is working actively with members of the United States Senate to recognize and condemn acts of transnational repression committed against Sikhs around the globe.

U.S Senator Blumenthal gave his support to the Sikh community and the Sikhs who are standing strong in the face of extrajudicial killings and other forms of transnational repression.

The Sikh Assembly of America is working directly in the United States Congress to ensure Sikhs have a voice against injustice. We call upon all organizations and governments that stand for human rights to condemn India’s transnational repression against the Sikh nation.

Following the great work of Dr Gurmeet Singh Aulakh and his lobbying in Congress, the Sikh Assembly of America recently laid forth several Sikh issues at the U.S Capitol in Washington DC. Working cohesively and engaging several members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the assembly was able to bring forth light to recent resolutions passed at state levels recognizing the 1984 Sikh Gencocide committed by the Indian Regime. Furthermore the Sikh Assembly of America also raised the importance of proper recognition on both state and national level for the Sikh nation. We hope to continue working alongside members of Congress to safeguard everyone’s human rights and raise the Sikh voice that has been suppressed for the last several decades.

The Sikh Assembly of America stands in solidarity with all those who have been unjustly targeted, oppressed, and silenced. We believe that every individual and community has an inalienable right to their identity, culture, and self-determination.
The recent events state-sponsored violence and international crime have underscored the need for an independent Sikh nation, where the rights of the Sikhs and all other minority communities are protected, and their voices are heard.
The Sikh Assembly of America believes that a sovereign Punjab, the Sikh homeland, will once again serve as a safe haven for those seeking sanctuary from persecution.

The Sikh Assembly of America has reached out to United States President Joe Biden and United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken with an alarming letter in regards to the ongoing transnational repression of Sikhs. The Sikh Nation demands action against the Government of India for their role in assassinations, extrajudicial killings, unexplained surveillance, and other forms of intimidation to silence the innocent.

The Sikh Assembly of America has been working diligently to address the urgent issues of transnational repression faced by Sikhs worldwide. Together, let's raise our voices for justice, equality, and religious freedom.

The inhumane and brutal actions of Indian authorities in the abduction, torture, murder, and disappearance of Akal Takht Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke on January 1st 1993 are a stark reminder of the ongoing injustice faced by the Sikh community in Punjab. We must demand accountability and justice for those who have been silenced for speaking out.
