The City of Alexandria, in partnership with Representative Don Beyer, invites the community to a memorial honoring the 67 lives lost in the January 2025 Potomac River mid-air collision.

Located along the Potomac River at Rivergate City Park, the memorial was designed with input from families and loved ones to create a space for reflection, remembrance, and community connection.

Community members are invited to gather, honor those we lost, and support one another on Monday, June 1, at 5:30 p.m. in Rivergate City Park (2 Montgomery St.). For event details, visit alexandriava.gov/c/62495.

As Trump demands a massive arch to honor himself, his Administration hasn't shared any information with the public about the planned traffic impacts of the project.

My guess: it won't be good.

On this day in 2007, the Fair Minimum Wage Act was signed into law, raising the federal minimum wage to $7.25 an hour.

A child born that year is now old enough to drive in 2026.

The minimum wage is *still* $7.25. It's long past time to increase it.
