Over five days, 40 young participants from Trinidad and Tobago completed the SANS SEC275 Foundations training, combining instructor-led learning with hands-on exercises across areas including Linux, networking, programming, SQL, cryptography, digital forensics, and offensive security.
Beyond the technical training, participants connected with ISACA cybersecurity professionals during a networking session, gaining insights from their experience and building professional connections that can support their continued growth beyond the classroom.
By combining technical training with professional exposure, the initiative seeks to give young people a stronger foundation to continue developing their cybersecurity capabilities, navigate career pathways with greater confidence, and pursue opportunities in the field. This directly reflects CyberPaths' objectives of increasing technical proficiency, strengthening career readiness, and building a pipeline of young cybersecurity professionals.
The training is part of CyberPaths – Building Blocks Towards a Secure Digital Future, a CICTE program made possible with the financial support of the Citi Foundation.
Implemented by CICTE in coordination with TT-CSIRT, hosted by the The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), and delivered by SANS Institute, with the participation of the ISACA Trinidad and Tobago Chapter.
