The Person Center

The Person Center TPC strives to end the cycle of war trauma and domestic violence among African immigrants by providing survivors with relevant tools to rebuild their lives

War and trauma have been shown to increase domestic violence within immigrant communities. As a result, the African immigrant community has an increased risk of violence within their homes. By providing targeted guidance and support to immigrant participants, our clients will be able to overcome the trauma of war and other abuses and begin the process of successful integration into society. TPC ha

s three primary goals:
1) Education and Outreach: we partner with and educate existing community organizations on the issues of war trauma and domestic violence.
2) Direct Services: We provide direct services of therapy to individuals and families in need of help as well as provide access to resources for assistance with social services.
3) Legislative and Advocacy: we raise awareness for lawmakers of the unique needs of African immigrants and collaborate with existing domestic violence advocacy groups.
