Sad to share that one of our original members, Lou Leonard passed away yesterday. Lou was retired from MPD a great friend, a great sense of humor and supporter of the PES. Our sincerest condolences go out to the Leonard family, RIP Lou 🙏

Patrick J. Finnigan, the Finn, passed away today, July 24, 2026, at the age of 76.

The Finn was a Founding Father and past President of the Emerald Society of Minnesota. He put his heart & soul into the formation of the Emerald Society. In 1995, The Finn attended the inaugural meeting in Washington DC for the formation of the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies. The Finn participated in the first NCLEES Memorial March to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

The Finn was a past President and Secretary of the St. Paul Police Federation. He was one of St. Paul’s Finest serving from 7/11/1977 to 12/30/1999.

Breaks my heart to share once again another beloved friend and member has passed away. John Dwyer our printer extraordinaire that owned D&P printing who helped design our membership cards and all our printing needs. John was a great friend and supporter who hailed from the Bronx which made him even more special. Please keep his wife Kathy and daughters Jenn and Kelly in your prayers. I'll keep you posted of arrangements. RIP my friend youll be dearly missed 💔 🙏
