Greatly appreciated Rosanna and Sara's leadership in organizing the 2018 ActLocal Grassroots Networking and Training Event.

I had the opportunity to lead an engaging workshop on our Grassroots Policy Agenda which can be found on our website (https://www.grassrootsideas.org/blog/2018/9/3/88qceszyooaupt2h42l7quk709o0ue.)

We also discussed the process for developing a new Issue Advocacy Campaign around our DNC Resolution on criminal justice reform and a national "use of force" standard for law enforcement on behalf of the Grassroots Coordinating Committee and Jobs-first.org.

GCC Resolution Titled "Supporting Better Accountability and Transparency for Law Enforcement Officers" Passed During the DNC Summer Meeting in Chicago

Very happy and excited to announce that we DID IT AGAIN, and were able to get another DNC Resolution written by one of our AWESOME Grassroots Coordinating Committee (GCC), National Messaging & Policy Task Force members, Audra, passed by the entire Democratic Party during the 2018 DNC Summer Meeting in Chicago.

Titled "Supporting Better Accountability and Transparency for Law Enforcement Officers" this critically important Resolution called for the following:

- Establish a National Database to collect information about officer-involved shootings.

- This Database should be administered by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and all law enforcement agencies would be required to submit reports quarterly.

- The DOJ should develop a national standard governing the use of force practices by, and de-escalation training for all U.S. law enforcement officers.

- Calls for officers to be treated without favor and held to the same standards as everyone else.

The GCC also wanted to express our gratitude to our INCREDIBLE partner Ms. Yasmine Taeb, DNC Committeewoman from Virginia, for working so diligently get all our Resolutions passed by the DNC.

Below is a copy of Audra’s specific Resolution and below is a link to all of the Resolutions Passed during the DNC Summer Meeting which can be viewed on our website:

On August 08, 2018 over 150 grassroots activist attended the DMV Grassroots Coordinating Committee's very first "Blue Wave - Grassroots Social & Action Fair." We were also fortunate enough to have Mr. Fletcher Johnson (YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/eyefletch) film and edit this INCREDIBLE video during the Event, and we wanted to express our utmost thanks to him, as well as all of our speakers and attendees. If you have any questions or are interested in joining the GCC you can find out more about us at our Website: https://www.grassrootsideas.org/.
