Gulf Research Program The GRP funds studies, projects, and other activities to solve challenges at the intersections of human, environmental, and offshore energy systems.

Welcome to our new Science Policy Fellow, Katherine Culbertson! Dr. Culbertson recently completed her Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research examined ecological and financial barriers to ecosystem restoration, with a focus on actionable, applied research that can inform policy and management decisions.

Welcome to our new Science Policy Fellow, Sean Baxley! Mr. Baxley is a Ph.D. candidate in Georgetown University’s Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience and holds a Master of Science in Integrative Neuroscience. His doctoral research examines the molecular and circuit-level mechanisms underlying Parkinson’s disease, with a focus on potential therapeutic approaches.

Welcome to our new Science Policy Fellow, Gracie Babineaux! Dr. Babineaux holds a Ph.D. in Earth and Energy Sciences from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her research focused on using a novel stable-isotope method to study current and past methane emissions at marine methane seepage sites in the Gulf region and near southern Chile.
