Congratulations to Lafayette ES student Leila on an incredible achievement! 🎉

She earned 2nd place at the citywide spelling bee last Saturday and will serve as the alternate for Scripps—an amazing honor.

We’re so proud to have her represent Lafayette and can’t wait to display her trophy in our school showcase. 🏆

As we enter Black History Month, we are excited to celebrate with the theme “Beyond Our Wildest Imagination.” Throughout February, students, staff, and families will engage in a variety of activities that honor Black excellence, creativity, resilience, and contributions across many fields. This year, we are placing an emphasis on reaching students, staff, and families—because we are one community inspired by leaders of past and present. Stay tuned for more posts throughout the month.
