The District of Columbia Speech-Language-Hearing Association believes that Black Lives Matter! Our mission, in part, is to empower through advocacy and awareness. Given this, we can’t encourage passivity and we refuse to be silent. We are saddened by the current state of our country as we continue to watch our unarmed Black brothers and sisters lose their lives senselessly and without consequence. As an organization, we stand boldly in opposition to systemic racism, violence, and oppression. We stand in solidarity with our Black members and the Black communities we serve who are hurting and protesting due to being disenfranchised by the injustices they face.
