Do you have any bagged fall leaves that you've collected from your chemical-free lawn and gardens? Starting November 1, 2020 the Bertie Backus Composting Group is seeking your fall yard waste. We have collaborated with Faith United Church of Christ to have a weekly drop-off area at 4900 10th St NE, Washington, DC 20017, for your bagged leaves and yard waste.

The drop/off area is at the end of the driveway (Signs will be posted). Please make sure the bags are free of trash and animal waste. No food scraps will be accepted. All material must be from a chemical-free yard or garden. We will even take straw bales. Contact Ra Amin at 202.798.1268 to make arrangements and if you have any questions. This event will end on December 15, 2020.

If you haven't already, you can get up to $500 in rebates (for residential ) or $750 in rebates (for commercial ) once cameras are registered with MPD:

https://ovsjg.dc.gov/service/private-security-camera-system-incentive-program . Even if you already have cameras but have not yet registered them you can still do so and apply for the rebate. If you applied for the rebate and did not hear back you can contact [email protected] . MPD has stated this is very effective for them not only to identify suspects to make an arrest but especially for prosecutors to secure convictions

Encourages residents, businesses, nonprofits, and religious institutions to install security cameras.
