We are proud to announce that the mining industry's all-injury rate reached an all-time low in 2025 — dropping to 1.74 per 200,000 hours worked, down from 1.82 in 2024.

This milestone reflects the dedication of miners, mine operators, and MSHA working together to build a safer industry. This rate represents real people.

"Keeping miners safe is our top priority, and seeing the rate of injuries decrease is cause for celebration." – Assistant Secretary for Mine Safety and Health Wayne Palmer

MSHA will continue partnering with the mining community to provide the training, tools, and technology needed to protect workers every single day.
