🎙️ Recently featured on the Two Reporters podcast, our Senior Director of Advocacy & Strategy Dana Gold shed light on the current landscape whistleblowers face—and reasons to retain hope in this historic moment.

In this episode, Gold shares how our Department of Justice (DOJ) whistleblower client, Erez Reuveni, came to Government Accountability Project to tell his story about what he witnessed inside the DOJ.

Even when confronted with risks to his career and possibly his family, Reuveni exposed DOJ leadership’s knowing defiance of federal court rulings—because he felt it was the right thing to do.

Reuveni's disclosure has led to greater congressional oversight of DOJ and increased distrust by district courts of DOJ’s compliance in its effort to implement executive branch policies.

Even in an era of uncertainty, whistleblower disclosures continue to illuminate wrongdoing, inspire hope, and incite reform.

🚨 Fresh press release: Alongside Lawyers for Good Government, we're filing complaints against the EPA on behalf of EPA employees who faced retaliation for exercising their First Amendment and whistleblower rights.

Last June, 620 EPA employees sent a Declaration of Dissent to Congress & EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, protesting concerns including the Office of Research and Development's dismantlement and EPA's disregard of scientific consensus.

Within hours, EPA began to unlawfully retaliate. About 140 signers were sent home; many EPA employees were terminated outright.

EPA’s own Ethics Office found that the EPA whistleblowers did not engage in any wrongful misconduct.

“EPA’s actions are blatantly illegal. We salute these brave whistleblowers and, with our allies and partners, back their rights to speak truth to power,” said David Seide, Of Counsel at Government Accountability Project.

Happy ! 🌍 Just as we expect our government to serve its people, so we expect our government to protect the fragile ecosystems and landscapes our lives depend upon.

🍃 We’re proud to celebrate Earth Day and highlight our advocacy on the frontlines of food safety, nuclear meltdown prevention, and environmental justice for communities such as East Palestine, OH harmed by manmade disasters.

🍃 As part of our lawsuit against the USDA, we obtained records revealing that USDA officials knew East Palestine's food supply was contaminated after the 2023 train derailment. Yet, the USDA failed to communicate that risk to residents.

🍃 Two days ago, we recognized the 16th anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Almost all people tasked with clean-up using the chemical Corexit have experienced health concerns including tumors and various cancers, which we've brought to the public eye. Since the oil spill, we've collaborated with whistleblowers and submitted dozens of affidavits to get accountability for those still suffering.

This and every day forward, we remain committed to fighting for environmental justice and transparency.
