COMMENT POLICY

The Committee on House Administration has issued regulations regarding Member-controlled content on social media accounts. All content on such websites must be in compliance with Federal law and House Rules applicable to any official communications. This means that content on Facebook.com/RepHerrell that includes or links to campaign information, grassroots lobbying, petitioning of

any kind, and advertisements must be removed. Furthermore, the Rules of the House of Representatives for the 117th Congress – specifically Rule VII – state that “records created, generated, or received by the congressional office of a Member…in the performance of official duties are exclusively the personal property of the individual Member…and such Member… has control over such records.” This means that content on my official page may be hidden or removed or restricted at the discretion of myself or my staff. All content posted multiple times is considered spam and such posting will be restricted.
