🌟 In the face of unimaginable tragedy, we witnessed the strength of community and compassion. 🌟
On the evening of January 29, a fatal collision between an American Airlines regional jet and a U.S. Army helicopter claimed 67 lives, shaking the hearts of our nation, especially in the DMV region. But in the aftermath of this heartbreaking event, we saw heroes rise — not just in the form of first responders, but also through the unwavering support of Travelers Aid staff and volunteers at Washington Reagan National Airport.
When the news broke, three TA staff members and six volunteers rushed to the airport without hesitation, offering comfort and care to grieving families in their darkest moments. As Kathleen Baldwin, president of Travelers Aid International, shared:
"No words can express how much the caring and support of these dedicated individuals meant to the grieving families left behind. We will be eternally grateful to these unsung heroes for their compassion and humanity in a time of great crisis."
In the midst of sorrow, these incredible volunteers provided not just assistance, but a sense of humanity that will never be forgotten.
