On June 8, 2026, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev and a delegation from the United States led by Sarah Rogers.
The parties discussed ways to further strengthen Turkmen-American cooperation in education, with a focus on expanding inter-university ties, academic mobility, language training, digital technologies, and the preparation of specialists for modern sectors of the economy.
Special attention was paid to joint master’s programs, including MBA initiatives, dual-degree models, curriculum development, faculty training, international accreditation, artificial intelligence technologies, and the use of leading digital educational platforms.
The sides also discussed current exchange programs, opportunities to increase participation of Turkmen students, and stronger engagement with alumni networks.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to update the joint cooperation Roadmap, reflecting new priorities in education, innovation, digital ecosystems and university partnerships.
The meeting reaffirmed the mutual commitment of Turkmenistan and the United States to strengthening educational cooperation and training highly qualified professionals for the future.
