Today, the Vice Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in the US, Amb. Mathilde Mukantabana, and the Head of Mission of the African Union Mission to the USA to the United States, Amb. Hilda Suka-Mafudze, led a meeting of the corps to discuss the foreign and economic policy priorities of the new U.S. administration and how hashtag

With the focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) the discussion aimed to generate insights into how institutions can adapt and thrive in this new landscape. Three key issues were highlighted: the transformative tool of AI, the need for effective collaboration and the changing profile of the supervisor.

Key takeaways included;
1. Need for collaboration among multiple stakeholders to address challenges in the financial sector, particularly around data management and AI integration

2. Challenges of managing data effectively, including maintaining control over data and handling the risks associated with third-party data providers. Data security and management were highlighted as critical issues that need continuous investment.

3. The future roles of supervisors in the context of AI advancements. Supervisors must adapt by acquiring new skills in data science and technology to understand and assess AI systems effectively.
