I appreciated the opportunity to join the Ohio Environmental Council for a meaningful conversation on lowering costs, environmental justice, and legislative solutions. Unfortunately, our poorest neighborhoods are also the most polluted.
Just when we were making progress on expanding clean energy, lowering energy bills, and investing in overlooked communities, the Trump Administration pulled the plug, including killing federal funds for solar for local schools and asthma prevention programs. That’s fine for oil companies, but bad for everyone else.
At the event, I was proud to connect again with Stevie Williams of our OH-11 Youth Advisory Council – her capstone project was on data centers, which driven up energy bills for families and created additional pollution. Ohioans deserve better.
