7 Priorities for Safe Prehospital Patient Handling: https://ow.ly/MtAE50V5lGJ

Patient handling is a daily responsibility in EMS, but it comes with significant risks. Ensuring safety for both patients and providers is crucial. Here are 7 key priorities for effective patient handling:

1️⃣ Ongoing training for consistency
2️⃣ Investing in the latest equipment
3️⃣ Analyzing accidents to improve safety practices
4️⃣ Empowering champions to lead by example
5️⃣ Prioritizing the right tools for every situation
6️⃣ Encouraging a "slow down" approach for safety
7️⃣ Consistently applying best practices for patient movement

By following these steps, EMS can reduce risk and improve patient outcomes.

Along with the flooding and snow, WV is also facing very cold weather the next few days. You may turn to space heaters to warm yourself but be aware that they come with their own dangers...NEVER plug a space heater into an extension cord, ALWAYS leave a 3 feet space between it and anything flammable and ALWAYS turn it off if you leave the room.

Staying current is key in the ever-changing world of EMS. Embrace the evolution; it's your superpower!
