Please pass on that there is a curfew for all Worth County residents. Curfew will start at 8pm tonight and continue until 7 am on Sept. 27. No one is allowed out during these times except for emergency personnel. I would suggest beginning off the roadways well before then.

Everyone please be prepared for the hurricane. Those preparations should be done immediately. Be prepared to be without power for 5 days or more. Make sure you have plenty of drinking water. Please bring in your trash cans an any other other loose items/ furniture that may be in your yard.
Currently we our looking at 74mph plus winds coming in late Thursday to early Friday. There are possibilities of tornadoes and heavy rains. If you feel unsafe in your homes before the hurricane gets here, please cal EMA services at 229-776-8223.
Understand that the EMS and Fire vehicles will not be on the roadways once the winds reach 45 mph, unless it is a true emergency. DO NOT touch or cross down power lines, and be cautious of hanging lines that may be in the trees or touching other things, it could possibly still have power running to it.
Us here at the police department will do our best to slow down Hurricane Helene when she gets here.
